Minor labor compliance notifications for Admins & Managers
For accounts with the Minor Labor Compliance feature enabled, 7shifts sends instant push notifications to Managers and Admins. These alerts trigger at the moment a minor employee reaches their daily or weekly hour limits, or when they reach their nightly curfew.
Things to Know
- The Minor Labor Compliance feature that alerts for possible minor violations is currently available only to customers in the US and access may require an upgrade from your current 7shifts plan.
- Managers and Assistant Managers will only receive these alerts for employees assigned to the same Locations and Departments that they are assigned to. To receive these notifications, they must have the appear on schedule setting enabled for those specific Departments.
- Admins will receive all alerts, so long as they have their notifications set to receive them.
- Admins, Managers, and Assistant Managers can customize personal notification preferences to enable or disable specific alerts.
- Minor Labor Compliance notifications can be enabled for mobile (push) only.
- Admins can manage Minor Labor Compliance settings for the entire account within Company settings.

Minor Labor Compliance Notifications
Admins, Managers, and Assistant Managers will receive Minor Labor Compliance scheduling notifications for the following:
- Minor Hour Limits: Notifications are sent at the moment the minor's actual worked time (punches) meets their daily or weekly maximum.
- Minor Curfew: If a minor is still punched in at the time of their nightly curfew (e.g., 7:00 PM during school sessions), an alert is sent to Admins, Managers, and Assistant Managers to ensure they punch out on time. These alerts are sent at the time of the curfew, not beforehand.
To receive these notifications, the following conditions must be met:
- The user must be an Admin, Manager, or Assistant Manager.
- The user must have the "Can manage schedules" permission enabled.
- The alerts will only trigger for employees assigned to the Manager's specific Locations and Departments.
- The minor labor compliance setting must be enabled and have a School Calendar active in Company Settings to accurately trigger school-session vs. non-school-session rules.
Note: These notifications are based on live punch data (from 7shifts or supported integrated POS systems) rather than scheduled shift end-times.
