What To Do If I'm Not Receiving My 2FA or MFA Verification Code?

Issue

You are trying to log in to your 7shifts account or update your payment information, but you are not receiving the multi-factor authentication (MFA) or 2-step verification code via SMS/text message.

What To Do

If you're not receiving your verification code, try the following steps to regain access to your account:

  1. Use the backup code you were provided when you first signed up for MFA as a replacement code. More info here: 2-Step Verification for 7shifts Pay Products. 
  2. Check for Service Delays. Occasionally, there may be delays from SMS providers. Wait a few minutes to see if the code arrives.
  3. Check if all your Linked Accounts have SMS Enabled. If you have multiple 7shifts accounts under the same log in SMS must be enabled under My Account > Notifications for EACH account.
  4. Verify Your Phone Number. Ensure the phone number connected to your 7shifts account is correct. If you are unable to log in to check this yourself, ask an Admin or Manager at your workplace to confirm the phone number listed in your profile.
  5. Restart Your Mobile Device and download any 7shifts App Updates. A simple restart can often resolve network connection issues that may be preventing you from receiving texts.

Issue Unresolved

Contact Support. For security and the safety of your account, you will be required to verify yourself. Please have the following ready:

  • Government Issued Photo ID (ie. Driver's License, passport - with name, address, photo)
  • Proof of matching address (ie. Utility Bills, Bank Statements, Lease Agreements, Pay Stubs) 
⚠️ If you need to submit payroll or a payout and are blocked due to MFA consider asking another Admin to complete the task while you are troubleshooting with our team to avoid delays.
