How to transfer account ownership when the owner is unavailable
If the person listed as the Account Owner for your 7shifts account is no longer with your company, 7shifts Support can help reassign and handover ownership to ensure you maintain control of your account.

Important: To protect your business, 7shifts requires verification before making any changes to account ownership.
- If the current Account Owner is still with your organization, they must reassign ownership themselves through their profile settings: How to Transfer Account Ownership.
- All three required documents must be provided before 7shifts can proceed with the request.
- Ownership transfers are reviewed by the 7shifts Security team for legal compliance.
How to Request a Transfer
When the Account Owner is unavailable, you must contact 7shifts Support to submit an ownership transfer request. Please indicate who the new Account Owner should be and provide the following documentation:
- Proof of Identification: A valid, government-issued ID (e.g., driver’s license or passport).
- Proof of Address: A document showing the same address as on the ID (e.g., utility bill or bank statement).

Proof of Ownership or Authorization. Submit one of the following:
- Business incorporation or registration documents.
- A signed letter on company letterhead from a senior leader confirming the new Account Owner assignment.
Note: This process ensures 7shifts remains compliant with identity verification and security protocols.
Expected Outcome
Once you submit your request and documents, the following steps occur:
- The 7shifts Security team reviews and authenticates your documentation.
- If verified, 7shifts processes the ownership transfer.
- You will receive a notification once the update is complete.
Next Steps
After the transfer is finalized, keep these details in mind:
- The previous Account Owner is automatically demoted to a regular Admin. The new owner can choose to deactivate their profile.
- All active Admins on the account are notified of the change via email.
- The new Account Owner must accept the 7shifts Terms of Service upon their next login.
