How to Transfer Account Ownership

If you're the current Account Owner  of your 7shifts account and need to pass ownership to someone else, you can do so directly from the 7shifts web app — no need to contact Support! 


When to Transfer Ownership

You should transfer ownership if:

  • You’re leaving the company.
  • You’re moving into a new role and will no longer manage the 7shifts account at the highest level.

Steps to Transfer Ownership

⚠️ Important: Only the current Account Owner can complete the transfer, and the new owner must be an active Admin user.

  1. Log in to the 7shifts web app.
  2. Go to My Account > Permissions.
  3. Click the Tools menu.
  4. Select Transfer Account Ownership.
  5. Choose the new Account Owner from the dropdown list. 

    Tip: Only active Admins will appear. If the person isn’t listed, update their user type to Admin first.
  6. Click Transfer Ownership to confirm.

After the Transfer

  • The previous Account Owner becomes a regular Admin.
  • All active Admins on the account will be notified of the Ownership change.
  • The new Account Owner will be prompted to accept the 7shifts Terms of Service the next time they log in.
