Clair | On-Demand Pay for Employees

No more waiting for payday. Get early access to a portion of your wages, available through Clair On-Demand Pay directly in the 7shifts mobile app. There's no interest charged, no credit checks and no required fees. 

The service is designed to give you financial flexibility by letting you access wages you've already earned before your next scheduled payday. Getting started is easy: Simply create a profile with Clair, link the bank account where you receive your paychecks, and get paid! All advances are automatically repaid on payday.

Things to know

• The 7shifts account must use 7punches or a POS labor integration that tracks shift hours. 
• Clair is only available for employees residing in the U.S. and is not currently available in CT, MA, MN, NM, NV, or SD.
   

What is Clair On-Demand Pay?

Get up to $800 before payday! We’ve partnered with a financial technology company called Clair to offer On-Demand Pay, a financial benefit that provides wage advances to eligible employees. On-Demand Pay is available through your employer and can be accessed from your 7shifts mobile app dashboard. 

Eligibility for On-Demand Pay is determined by several factors. Some of the requirements for your eligibility include:

• You are currently employed by an employer who is eligible for Clair On-Demand Pay. 
• You are 18 years old or older.
• You have a valid social security number, are employed in the US, and reside in a state where Clair operates.
• Your bank account consistently receives direct deposit for your payroll.

How to Sign Up (Get Paid Early)

1. Find On-Demand Pay by scrolling to the bottom of the Dashboard on the 7shifts mobile app and selecting Get paid early. For Managers, find On-Demand Pay by heading to the Dashboard and selecting My Shifts.

   

How much can I advance?

The easiest way to see how much you can advance right now is to visit your On-Demand Pay dashboard. The amount available to advance is based on the number of hours you have already worked in a given pay period. 

You can advance a maximum of $100 at a time. To start, you will be able to advance up to $200 between paydays, but as you consistently repay advances across multiple pay cycles, you may see that limit increase up to $800.

Are there any fees with Clair On-Demand Pay?

We're all for transparency, so we want you to know what to expect from Clair. There are no required fees to use On-Demand Pay: Advances arrive in 1-3 business days fee-free, or you can pay $4.99 per advance to receive your money instantly.*

*Instant Transfers typically occur in seconds, but may take up to 30 minutes. If you choose to have your Advance disbursed to your bank account instantly, you will be charged a $4.99 fee.  This instant transfer fee will be taken out of your Advance at the time of disbursement.

How does repayment work? 

Typically, all advances you take within a given pay period are repaid automatically from your linked bank account when you receive your next paycheck.

The amount you pay is always the amount you borrowed, with no interest or fees added. 

If your paycheck is delayed, you can go into the Clair experience and make a manual repayment to bring your balance to $0, allowing you to use On-Demand Pay again.

Does this notify my employer? 

No, your employer is not notified. Although your employer is aware of this benefit, they are not directly notified when any employees take or repay an earned wage advance, and it has no impact or change to your employer's payroll process.

FAQ

Why does Clair verify my identity with my Social Security Number?

To help the Federal Government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, the USA Patriot Act requires all financial institutions and their third parties to obtain information that identifies each person who opens an account. What this means for you: When you open an account, Clair will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you.

Clair does not sell or share your data with external parties, and verifying your identity has no impact on your credit score.

Does Clair perform credit checks to determine eligibility?

No. Clair does not perform hard or soft credit checks. Your earned wages are calculated based on the hours you’ve worked, plus a combination of underwriting rules determined by Clair.
