Clair | On-Demand Pay for Admins

Clair On-Demand Pay gives your employees early access to their earned wages directly through their 7shifts mobile app, at no cost to your business and with zero administrative effort. Clair manages all funding, compliance, and repayment, ensuring no extra work for you or your team.

Clair On-Demand Pay does not change or impact 7shifts reporting or your current payroll process in any way. Any advances an employee takes are private. You are not directly notified when an employee takes or repays an earned wage advance.

Should an employee be unable to repay an advance, Clair would provide them with additional options to repay. Clair does not perform any collection activities or credit reporting.

Things to know

Clair on-demand pay is being rolled out to 7shifts accounts in phases. You will receive an email notifying you when your business becomes eligible to offer this feature.

⚠️ Important: Clair is only available for employees located in the U.S. and is currently not available in CT, MA, MN, NM, NV, or SD.

  • Access requires the use of 7punches or a POS labor integration.
  • Employees must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid Social Security Number.
  • The employee bank account must consistently receive direct deposits from your payroll to be eligible.
  • Employers bear no financial responsibility if an employee is unable to repay a wage advance.

How Clair On-Demand Pay works for Employees

Employees access this feature directly within the 7shifts mobile app and interact solely with Clair for advances and repayment.

  • Employees find the feature by selecting Get paid early on their mobile dashboard.
  • Employees create a profile, verify their identity (including SSN), and securely link their bank account that receives their direct deposit via Plaid.
  • Employees can advance a maximum of $100 at a time. To start, they will be able to advance up to $200 between paydays (depending on how many shifts they have worked), but as they consistently repay advances across multiple pay cycles, they may see that limit increase up to $800.
  • Clair manages all funding, compliance, and repayment, ensuring no extra work for you or your team.

When your business becomes eligible for On-Demand Pay, you will receive an email from 7shifts. Clair On-Demand Pay may be enabled automatically for your account, allowing a quick path to financial flexibility for your staff. As the account Admin, you maintain full control to disable or re-enable this benefit for your employees at any time.

How to opt out (disable access)
