How can I give a manager access to schedule in multiple departments without appearing as 'No Role'?

Question

How to stop a Manager from showing as 'No Role', if they work across multiple departments?

Answer

Yes, you can prevent an employee from showing as 'No Role' on the schedule while still allowing them to access multiple departments (e.g., for scheduling purposes).

This situation happens when a Manager is assigned to several departments but isn't assigned to any roles. It is suggested that you checkmark the Appear on Schedule box in departments where they don’t have a Role.

  1. Navigate to the Managers' employee profile.
  2. Go to their Assignments.
  3. For departments where the employee does not have a specific role assigned but you want them to have access to schedule for, uncheck the Appear on Schedule option.
  4. Ensure the employee is assigned a role in the department(s) where you want them to appear on the schedule.

This allows the employee to maintain access to those departments for scheduling purposes without appearing as "No Role" on the schedule itself.
