How to Cancel 7shifts Payroll

We're sorry to see you go! If you’ve decided to stop using 7shifts Payroll, you can cancel directly from your account—no need to contact Support.


⚠️ Important Notes:

  • Only Admin users can cancel payroll.
  • You can only cancel effective immediately. If you plan to cancel later, please wait until you're ready to proceed.
  • As soon as you cancel 7shifts payroll, you will no longer be able to pay your employees using 7shifts.
  • Your reason for cancellation is required to ensure all tax responsibilities are properly handled.
    • If you are switching payroll providers, tax responsibilities for the current year will be transferred to the new provider.
  • Make sure you’ve saved all important documents and reports before confirming.

How to Cancel Payroll

  1. Go to the Payroll Dashboard
    • Navigate to the Payroll section in your 7shifts account.
    • From the Payroll Dashboard, locate the "Cancel 7shifts Payroll" section.
  2. Start the Cancellation Process
    • Click “Start Cancellation” and follow the prompts.

  3. Tell Us More
    You'll be asked to provide:
    • Your reason for cancelling (e.g., switching to another provider or business closure)
    • If you’re switching, the name of your new payroll provider
    • Any feedback you'd like to share with us
  4. Confirm and Acknowledge
    Before completing the cancellation, you’ll be asked to acknowledge:
    • 7shifts will no longer file, pay, or report taxes on your behalf
      • If you're switching to a new Payroll Provider, they will be responsible for tax obligations for your business.
    • You won’t be able to run payroll or pay employees using 7shifts
    • You’ve downloaded all necessary reports for your records
  5. Complete Cancellation
    • Click “Cancel 7shifts Payroll” to finalize.
