What does "$0.00 pending" funds mean?

Question

Why does my float top-up show $0.00 pending for Tip Payouts?

Answer

In 7shifts, float top-ups are automatic when the balance falls below your set amount. If you are seeing $0.00 pending, it means the automatic top-up isn't currently being attempted.

This typically happens when a previous top-up was returned - most commonly due to insufficient funds or your bank blocking the transaction.

If a top-up fails, we'll notify you by email, and a manual top-up will be processed within 2-3 business days. For more assistance, please contact our Support team.

⚠️ Important: As of June 30, 2026 the 7shifts Tip Payouts feature will no longer be available in the 7shifts app. We know waiting weeks for payday is hard on hourly workers, so we're partnering with Clair to bring employees free, on-demand access to their earned tips and wages directly in the 7shifts employee mobile app. No float required on your end, no extra admin work. Your tip pools are not affected. Learn more about the transition to On-Demand Tips with Clair here
