You can integrate Tonic POS to get real-time sales, employee clock-in/out data to help maintain labor control. Additionally, Tonic POS pulls your schedules from 7shifts in real-time, making it easier to enforce schedules directly in Tonic POS. When you enable the integration, you can also request the transfer of historical sales and labor data from Tonic to 7shifts—this is not done automatically, but can be requested as needed.

⚠️ Access to this feature may require an upgrade from your existing plan.


Adding the integration

⚠️ You can get your Access Token and Location ID(s) from 7shifts by heading to Settings > Developer Tools.

⚠️ Contact Tonic POS (support@tonicpos.com) for support in setting up the integration. Any questions regarding the set-up process are managed by Tonic's team.
  1. Head to Tonic's integration Marketplace and locate 7shifts.
  2. Follow the prompts to authorize the connection.
  3. After authorization, select the 7shifts Location ID(s) you want to sync with Tonic POS.
  4. If your 7shifts Account has multiple departments, you’ll need to manually create roles in 7shifts to match the roles in Tonic POS.
  5. If no manual setup is required, roles and users will sync automatically, matching by email address.

Actual Sales & Forecasting

Once your integration has been activated, your real-time sales data will be enabled by default. 7shifts will also use those Actual Sales values to populate Projected Sales, allowing you to create schedules based on those projections.

After activating your integration, please note that sales projections may not appear immediately. It can take approximately 1-2 weeks from the activation date for sales projections to become visible, covering up to four weeks into the future. These will become more accurate over time as more data is available.

You can manually import sales data for more immediate projections. To do this, import hourly sales each day or individual receipts consistently. You can learn more about sale projections here.

Sales sync from Tonic POS to 7shifts every minute.

7shifts will sync sales data into the Dashboard, Manager Log Book, Actuals Report, and the Labor Budget Tool.

Projected Sales

When building schedules for future weeks, 7shifts will automatically use past historical sales data to generate and insert sales projections. This feature enables more accurate scheduling to help you stay on budget and within your labor targets.

Actual Sales

The Actual Sales data will initially be empty for the current or future days until sales data starts rolling in. Once sales numbers are pulled into 7shifts, they will be displayed under the respective days.

Actual Labor

We integrate with Tonic POS for Actual Labor, this means that your actual labor costs will be pulled into 7shifts. Once enabled, your actual labor costs will be displayed on the Dashboard allowing you to compare Sales vs. Labor.

You'll see the labor numbers update on the Dashboard on the day you enabled Tonic POS actual Labor. Going forward, these numbers will be updated daily from your Tonic POS terminal.
