I missed my payroll submission deadline for a 2-day processing schedule. How can I still pay my employees on time?

If you missed the 5:00 PM PT / 8:00 PM ET cutoff, you can still ensure your team is paid using Next-Day Rush or Manual Paper Checks.

Option 1: Next-Day Rush/Pay

Exclusively available for 2-day processing schedules, this allows you to pay employees via direct deposit by the next day.

  • Submit by 5:00 PM PT / 8:00 PM ET the day before payday.
  • Fee: $0.65 per employee paid (added to your next invoice).
  • Employees are paid the following day, typically after 5:30 PM ET.

Option 2: Manual Payments by Paper Check

If you miss the Next-Day Rush deadline, or prefer to avoid fees, you can issue paper checks.

  • Checks are available to download and print immediately after submission.
  • Fee: $0 (No additional fees).
  • 7shifts still calculates and debits the necessary taxes via ACH as usual.

Note: Missing a deadline does not result in a penalty or fee; the automated alert is simply a reminder and will clear once your next payroll cycle begins.
