Attestation Report
If attestation is enabled for your account, the 7shifts Attestation report shows every response your team submits when they clock out on 7punches, so you can review compliance details and follow up on negative responses.
Things to know
Important: Admins, and Managers with the "Can view reports" permission, can view the Attestation report.
- The Attestation report may require an upgrade from your current plan.
- To turn attestation on, see Attestation Management.
- A response appears in the report after the employee completes punch-out.
- If 7punches was offline or not on the latest version when an employee tried to respond, the report shows "No response" for that question. Update employees' devices to the latest version of the 7punches app.
- If a punch tied to a response is deleted, the response stays in the report, and (deleted) appears next to the punch time.
- Attestation responses also appear as a column on Time Clocking and in the Punch Overview for an individual punch.
- Responses recorded in California jurisdictions before the new Attestation Management feature was released appear as Meal break responses with their original wording. They don't include multiple questions or follow-up responses.
Run and filter the report
- In the left navigation bar, select Reports, then select Attestation Report.
- Use the filters to narrow results by date range, location, department, role, employee, attestation type (Meal break, Rest break or customer) or response. To see only negative responses, set the response filter to Negative.
- Click Clear filters to reset them.
Review a response
Click a row to expand it and see the response for each attestation question tied to that punch, along with any follow-up detail an employee entered for a negative response. Rows with a negative response show a red badge and warning icon so you can spot them quickly.
Response types
- An Affirmative response means the requirement was met. It shows an Affirmative label, and a row with affirmative responses shows a green badge with a check mark.
- A Negative response means the requirement wasn’t met. It shows a Negative label and a warning icon next to the question, and a row with negative responses shows a red badge with a warning icon.
-
A No response status means 7punches did not capture an answer. Common causes include the employee not punching out, an offline device during the punch, or an outdated version of the 7punches app.
Negative response follow-up
If 'Ask follow up question on negative response' is enabled for a question, employees must answer it before they can submit a negative response. Their answer appears in the expanded row.
Export the report
- Click Export CSV from the top right.
The export includes the results currently on your screen, including any filters you applied. Your report downloads automatically once it's ready, and larger date ranges may take a moment to build.
