Labor Exceptions Report
The Labor Exception Report in 7shifts monitors compliance with labor laws by identifying and tracking exceptions, such as missed breaks, overtime, double time (applicable in certain states, like California), predictive scheduling violations (e.g., New York City’s Fair Workweek laws), and other scheduling discrepancies.
Prerequisites
⚠️ Access to this feature may require an upgrade from your current plan.
⚠️ The Labor Exceptions Report is only available for accounts using 7punches or a POS labor integration.
⚠️ Shift lengths appear for exceptions related to shift duration, while other exceptions will show 0 hours.
⚠️ Missed Breaks Exceptions (California) will only show on the Labor Exceptions report for those using 7punches or select POS labor integrations, including: Toast, Micros 3700, Aloha, Squirrel, Heartland Restaurant, and Brink.
⚠️ The Labor Exception Report calculates costs based on your set Jurisdiction and Advanced Labor Settings. Depending on local laws, multiple violations of the same type (e.g., two missed rest breaks) may be consolidated into a single incurred exception.
