Cash Tips for Lightspeed K Tip Pooling

Automatic tip contributions from your Lightspeed K POS integration now includes cash tips, allowing you to calculate and distribute total earnings in one place. You no longer need to track cash tip distributions in separate spreadsheets or manual workaround processes. Cash tips entered at your POS automatically flow into your 7shifts tip pool alongside card tips so final payouts accurately reflect full team earnings.

• Combine cash and digital tips automatically during tip pool calculations.
• Skip manual spreadsheet tracking when distributing tips to your team.
• Access this feature on tip pooling-eligible plans with an active Lightspeed K POS integration.

Custom Schedule Publishing Options

Managers can now publish schedules by one or multiple roles, a full week, or custom days directly within 7shifts, while the standard workflow of publishing entire departments for the week remains unchanged and pre-selected by default.

• Select one or multiple roles at a time within the updated publish modal, or keep all roles selected to publish as usual.
• Choose to publish a full week or pick specific days of the week to publish.
• Rely on pre-filled defaults that match your active schedule view, keeping your full department and week pre-selected when opening the modal.
• Right-click any assigned draft shift on web, or use the menu in mobile shift details, to publish individual shifts on demand.
• Note: The custom publishing update has been released for web and Android (version 2026.32.0) devices only at this time. Custom publishing will be available on iOS soon!

Revamped Dashboard on Web

The revamped web dashboard gives managers a centralized hub to view urgent alerts, review daily tasks, and message scheduled staff. You can now act on daily operational priorities immediately on the renamed Overview page (formerly Sales vs. Labor), featuring an automated AI summary of your Log Book entries and stats directly on the page.

• Review critical alerts in Items Requiring Attention, including unresolved integration warnings, payroll blockers, overtime risks, and pending employee requests, in one consolidated view.
• Review your Tasks summary alongside an AI-generated daily operational insight built from your Log Book entries, sales, and labor data.
• Start a group chat directly with employees scheduled for the day based on your selected location.
• Access daily punches on the time clocking page, the events calendar, and the schedule Day View using Quick Actions.

AI Generated - Operational Insights

The new AI generated Operational Insights summary automatically takes daily Log Book entries, sales data, and labor metrics to give managers an instant high-level view of daily restaurant operations. Available on both web and mobile, this feature reads daily posts, comments, and recent historical trends so leadership teams can understand key events at a glance.

• Operational Insights requires the Log Book add-on or may require an upgrade from your current 7shifts plan. 
• View automated daily summaries directly on your web Dashboard Overview and at the top of the Log Book on web or mobile.
• Automatically triggers a new operational summary after 5 separate text entries in the Log Book.
• View daily shift activity alongside real-time sales and labor statistics without reading through every individual log entry.

• Submit direct feedback to our team on any AI summary using the built-in feedback form link. On the web app, go to your Overview page, click the three-dot menu on the summary, and select Share Feedback to open the form.
