Canadian Labor Compliance
7shifts has updated Labor Compliance settings to support provincial Reporting Pay rules and federal Right to Rest requirements across Canada. These updates help you maintain compliance by automatically flagging scheduling gaps and calculating minimum pay top-ups based on your specific jurisdiction.
- Reporting Pay is now supported across all provinces, including British Columbia, to calculate top-up costs for 2, 3, or 4-hour minimum pay rules.
- Right to Rest alerts are available for the Canada Federal Jurisdiction to flag instances where employees have fewer than 8 hours between consecutive shifts.
- New customers who provide their location during account setup will have these jurisdiction-specific settings enabled by default.
- Existing customers can manually enable these updates within their Labor Compliance settings to avoid immediate changes to their current workflows.
