Why are shifts or punches missing from Labor Reports and Tip Pools?
Issue
An employee's shift or punch is not appearing in 7shifts labor reports or the Tip Pool. This occurs even after a labor backfill or re-sync has been performed to refresh the data.
Cause
Punches may not appear in 7shifts reports if the employee's shift ends after the scheduled operating hours defined in your Location settings. For example, if a Location is set to close at 11:00 PM but an employee clocks out at 1:00 AM the following day, the system may not automatically categorize the shift within the expected reporting day or pay period.
What To Do
Caution: Do not delete shifts to try and fix reporting gaps, as this will permanently remove the data from the pay period.
- Navigate to Settings and select Locations.
- Select the Location where the employee worked.
- Adjust the operating hours to include the latest possible time an employee might clock out (e.g., if they clean until 2:00 AM, set the close time to 2:00 AM or later).
- Click Save.
- Return to your Labor Report or Tip Pool.
- Adjust the date range to specifically include the calendar day the shift ended.
Issue Unresolved
If the employee's hours still do not appear after adjusting location settings and date ranges, please contact 7shifts Support for further investigation.
