Overview dashboard in the 7shifts mobile app
The overview dashboard in the 7shifts mobile app provides Admins and Managers with a real-time snapshot of daily operations. Users can monitor pending staff requests, live labor costs, and sales performance directly from this central command center. Upon logging into the 7shifts mobile app, Admins and managers land on the Overview tab by default or can navigate back by tapping the Home button in the bottom menu.
Things to know
Important: Managers and Assistant Managers must have the 'Can Manage Schedules' permission enabled to access the mobile Overview page.
- Managers and Assistant Managers only see requests and data for their specifically assigned Locations and Departments.
- Managers and Assistant Managers must have the 'Can Manage time punches' permission to add, edit, or delete punches.
- Sync times for actual sales and labor data vary depending on the specific POS integration being used.
Request blocks
Request blocks are located at the top of the dashboard to highlight items requiring immediate action. Selecting any block takes the manager directly to the corresponding approval screen.
⚠️ Important: You must have specific permissions to approve or decline requests to view these blocks on your dashboard.
- The Shift Pool block allows managers to view and manage shift trades or offerings.
- The Time Off block allows managers to review and approve or decline leave requests.
- The Availability block allows managers to review changes to employee weekly availability.
- If no pending requests exist, the block displays a green zero state.
Who’s working blocks
The Who’s working section provides live indicators of the current status of the team. These blocks function as shortcuts to deeper insights regarding the daily roster and schedule.
- The On indicator shows employees who are currently punched in.
- The Break indicator shows employees currently on a rest or meal break.
- The Overdue indicator shows employees who are late for a start time or have missed a punch.
- The Upcoming indicator shows employees scheduled for later today who have not yet clocked in.
- The Out indicator shows employees who have completed their shifts and punched out.
Roster and Schedule views
Tapping any status block opens the full Who's working page. Managers can toggle between two distinct views:
- The Roster tab allows managers to view punch details, edit or delete punches for 7punches users or accounts with 'Edit POS time punches in 7shifts' enabled, and see overtime warnings.
- The Schedule tab provides a visual timeline of the day's shifts, including Open Shifts and coverage gaps.
Sales vs. Labor data
The Sales vs. Labor graph allows managers to monitor labor efficiency in real-time. This tool compares projected data against actual numbers synced from the POS or 7punches to help managers make staffing decisions.
- Managers can use Date and Location filters to toggle between different sites or historical performance.
- The hourly and daily views allow managers to tap into specific hours on the graph to identify labor cost spikes or sales dips.
- Performance metrics include Actual vs. Projected Sales, Labor %, and Sales Per Labor Hour (SPLH).
