Accessing W-2's and tax forms after account cancellation

Can I access my employee W-2s or tax forms if I have canceled my 7shifts account?


Answer

Yes. Even if your account is canceled, you can gain temporary access to 7shifts Payroll to retrieve necessary tax documents such as W-2s.

Important: 7shifts Payroll only provides W-2s if the final tax filing quarter was indicated as Q4. If the account was closed during Q1, Q2, or Q3, annual tax returns are not filed by our provider and W-2s will not be available.


What to do

Note: Only an Admin or the Account Owner can request this temporary access.

  1. Contact the 7shifts Support team to request a temporary reactivation for document retrieval.
  2. Log in to your 7shifts account using your previous credentials once Support grants access.
  3. Navigate to the Payroll > Taxes section to download the required W-2 forms.
  4. Complete all exports within 7 days.

Your account will automatically return to a canceled state after the 7-day grace period unless valid billing information is added. You may contact Support for an extension if you need more than 7 days to complete your exports.
