How to fix address verification errors for Tip Payouts

Issue

An error occurs when entering an address for tip payouts, or the system does not accept the provided banking address. This prevents the employee from successfully linking their account and receiving payouts.

Cause

This rejection typically happens when the address entered in 7shifts does not match the official records held by the employee's banking institution or if the address format is not recognized by the verification system.

What To Do

Tip: Encourage employees to use a recent bank statement to confirm exactly how their address is formatted in their bank's records.

  1. Search the employee's address on Google Maps to confirm it is a valid, existing location.
  2. Ensure the address entered in 7shifts matches the bank's records exactly, including unit numbers, directional prefixes (N, S, E, W), and street suffixes (St, Ave, Blvd).
  3. Verify that there are no extra spaces or special characters in the address fields that might trigger a formatting error.
  4. If the address is valid on Google Maps but still rejected, ask the employee to contact their bank to verify the "Address on File" used specifically for electronic verification.
