When using 7punches, can an employee clock in at one location and clock out at a different location?
Answer
No. Employees must clock out at the same location where they clocked in. 7shifts treats time punches as specific to the location where the shift started.
If an employee works at two different locations in one day, the employee must perform the following steps:
- Clock out at the first location.
- Travel to the second location.
- Clock in for the new shift at the second location.
Important: Employees must be assigned to a location in their employee profile before they can attempt to clock in at that location.
Note: Enabling the setting, allow punches without a scheduled shift, allows employees to clock in regardless not having published shifts on the schedule, but it does not enable switching locations during an active shift.
