How is the Employee Limit calculated in my account?

If you are on a 7shifts plan that has an employee limit, your account's total employee limit is calculated based on the number of active locations you have and the employee limit per location defined by your plan.

How your limit is determined

Every active location in your account contributes a specific maximum number of active employees to your overall total.

Your total account-wide limit is calculated using this simple formula:

Total Employee Limit = Employee limit per location x Number of active locations.

Here's an example using a 30 employee limit:
Number of Active LocationsEmployee LimitTotal Account-Wide Employee Limit
13030 Employees
430120 Employees

Distributing your employees

The employee count is tracked account-wide, which gives you flexibility in employee assignment.

This means you have the flexibility to distribute your employees as needed:

  • You can assign more than the per-location limit (e.g., more than 30 employees) to a single location, as long as the total number of active employees across ALL your locations does not exceed your overall account-wide limit.
  • Example: If your total limit is 120 employees, you could have 10 employees in Location A and 80 employees in Location B, since the combined total (90) is below your 120 limit.
