Why can't I see shifts on the Who's Working dashboard?

Issue

An Admin or Manager cannot see employee shifts on the Who's Working dashboard, or the dashboard appears empty for specific locations.


Cause

The Who's Working dashboard requires at least one department to be created for each location. If a 7shifts account has locations without any defined departments, the dashboard will not display shift data for those locations.


What to do

Important: You must be logged in as an Admin to create or modify departments.

  1. In the 7shifts web app, hover over your profile picture and select Locations/Departments/Roles.
  2. Filter the view to the Location that is missing dashboard data.
  3. Check if any departments exist. If the list is empty, click Add Department to create at least one.
  4. Assign the relevant roles and employees to the new department.
  5. Navigate back to the Dashboard page.

Issue unresolved

If departments exist but shifts are still not visible, verify that employees have published shifts scheduled for the current time and that they are assigned to the correct departments and roles.
