Why Is the Employee Dropdown Greyed Out When Sending Onboarding Packages in 7shifts Payroll?

Issue

When trying to send a new onboarding package, you can select the Business Entity and Location, but the Employee dropdown is greyed out, preventing you from selecting an employee or continuing.
This issue may affect all locations linked to your payroll account.

What To Do

This issue occurs because one or more Locations associated with the onboarding package are missing a valid street address.

To resolve this, update the street address for the affected location(s):

  1. Log into the 7shifts web app as an Admin.

  2. In the left navigation bar, select Settings.

  3. Click Locations / Departments / Roles.

  4. Select the Location missing its address.

  5. Under the General tab, enter a valid Street Address.

  6. Click Save.

Once saved, return to the Onboarding Packages section. The Employee dropdown should now be active, and you can proceed with sending the package.
