Creating & Managing Events
Enter your Events into 7shifts to see them on the Schedule. This will help you schedule the right number of staff on busy nights and allow your staff to see these upcoming Events as well.

Prerequisites
⚠️ Managers/Assistant Managers will require the permission: 'Can manage events'.
⚠️ Events are not tracked within the activity log.
Create an Event
Use the tabs to change your viewing preferences through the mobile or web app:
- Tap the More menu ☰ button > Events:
- Tap the + in the top right corner of the screen:
- Enter the event details and tap Save:
- The event is now visible to you and all the Employees assigned at that Location. Any day with an Event will show a green indicator dot. Tap on the day to view and edit the Event details:
- Your Events will also be visible on the Schedule tab, just under the date and day of the week:

Tap on the Event to view or edit details.
Nice job! Your event has been successfully created.
- Click on the '+' option under the selected day.
- From there, you can add the Event details.
- You can change the color of the Event by clicking on the color dropdown next to the Event title.
- If your Event repeats, you can set the frequency at which you want it to reoccur in the 'Repeat' dropdown.
- When finished, click Create.
- Once the Event is created, it automatically appears at the top of the Schedule for the Location the Event was assigned to:
- Click on the Event to view the details. If you need to make any changes, click on Edit:
- To view all Events, click on x More to expand this section:
- From the Schedules page, you can also create an event by clicking on the blue Events link:
- Click on the + Create Event button.
- From here, you can add the Event details and click Create to post it live.

Employees Viewing Events
Employees can see the Events on their schedule from both the mobile app and the web app.
Here's what an employee will see when viewing their shift details on the mobile app:

Employees will also be able to see Scheduled Events when their shifts are emailed to them upon a Schedule published:
If you have the Shift Reminders setting enabled, details of Events are also included in the notifications that are sent.
