Approve or Deny Shift Pool Requests

Managers and Assistant Managers can review, approve, or deny employee shift pool requests using the 7shifts web or mobile app.

Things To Know

  • Managers and Assistant Managers can only access shift pool requests from users assigned to the same Locations and Departments.
  • Managers/Assistant Managers will be able to approve shift trades/requests with permissions: can manage schedules, and can approve/decline shift pool requests.

  • Expired shifts in the pool? Admins and Managers can clear them by removing the shift from the Schedule page and republishing the schedule for that specific week.

Shift pool notifications

  • Both the employee giving away the shift and the employee assigned the shift will receive a notification about the approved or denied schedule change. The schedule automatically updates to reflect the new shift assignment.
  • Employees will be notified about the status of their shift bid once a Manager approves or denies the request.
  • When a shift is successfully assigned, other employees who bid on the shift will not receive a direct notification, but the shift will automatically disappear from their Shift Pool.
  • If a shift bid is denied, the employee will receive a notification stating that the request was not approved.
