How to complete a Training Course in 7shifts (For Employees)

7shifts Training lets restaurant operators assign training courses and resources directly to staff. This guide explains how Team Members and Employees can complete assigned training courses and access the Resource Library in the 7shifts mobile app.

⚠️ Note: 7shifts Training is currently in Beta and available for all accounts. Features and functionality may change as we continue to gather feedback. Training is completely free during our beta period. On August 30, 2026, you'll need to upgrade to the Premium plan for your employees to continue completing courses.

Important: Training courses must be completed in the 7shifts mobile app. The web app does not support course completion at this time. Learn how to download the 7shifts mobile app here

Things to Know


  • When a course is assigned, you'll receive a push notification and an email. Tap the notification to open the course directly.
  • Push notifications must be enabled on your device to receive Training push notifications.
  • You must view all course content and answer any quiz questions to mark a course as Completed.
  • Your manager can track your progress from the 7shifts web dashboard.

Complete a Training Course


  1. Open the 7shifts mobile app and log into your account.

  2. Tap More from the bottom navigation, then select Training.
  3. Under Assigned Training, tap the course you want to complete.
  4. Scroll through each page to view all content. Course pages may include text, images, videos, and quiz questions.
  5. If a page includes a quiz question, select your answer(s) and tap Submit. The app will immediately confirm whether your answer is correct or incorrect.
  6. Continue through all pages until a Module Completed message appears. Your course status will update to Completed.

Tip: There may be more than one correct answer listed!

Track your progress


Return to the Training tab at any time to start a newly assigned course or review content from courses you've already completed.

Resource Library


The Resource Library is your go-to hub for on-demand training materials and company references. This is where you can instantly access important documents your managers may have shared, including employee handbooks, menu PDFs, training videos, and standard operating procedures. 

If your manager has shared resources with you, you can find and view them by following the steps below:

  1. Open the 7shifts mobile app and navigate to the Training tab from the More menu.
  2. Scroll below your course list to find the Resource Library section.
  3. Use the search bar or filter dropdown to locate specific materials.
  4. Tap any resource card to open and view it.

Note: Resources are view-only in the 7shifts mobile app and cannot be downloaded to your personal device.

Next Steps


Once you've completed your assigned courses, check the Training tab regularly for any newly assigned content. If you're not receiving push notifications for new courses, confirm that 7shifts notifications are enabled in your device settings.
