How can I prevent employees from clocking in outside the restaurant?

Issue

Restaurant staff are able to clock in and out through the 7shifts app offsite and from any location, rather than being restricted to the restaurant premises. This allows employees to punch in without being physically onsite.

What To Do

Enable Geofencing within the 7punches settings to restrict employee clock-ins to a specified radius around the restaurant's location.

1. Log in to the web app as an Admin.
2. Navigate to Time Clocking > Settings.
3. Under the 7punches settings section, locate and check the box for Geofencing.
4. Click on Set Geofence.
5. In the Address field, verify that your restaurant's Location is accurate. If incorrect or missing, enter the correct address.
6. Adjust the radius for how close employees need to be to this Location to clock in. This can be done by clicking or dragging the slider.
   • You can also drag and drop the location pin on the map to fine-tune the precise Location.
   • The smallest distance is roughly 25m, the largest 500m.
7. If you manage multiple Locations, validate the address and set the distance allowance for each by clicking on their names on the left menu.
8. Click Save.
9. Scroll down to the bottom of the main 7punches settings page and click Save again to apply all changes.
