Nevada Labor Compliance

Nevada labor laws include specific regulations that employers in the restaurant industry must follow to ensure fair scheduling and compliance.

In this article, you'll learn how to enable Nevada labor compliance in 7shifts and understand overtime settings.

Prerequisites

⚠️ Access to this feature may require an upgrade from your current plan.

⚠️ The Labor Exceptions report is only available with 7punches or a POS integration with Actual Labor.

Enable Labor Compliance

  1. Log in as an Admin on the web app.
  2. In the left navigation bar, head to Settings (or, hover over your profile photo) > Company Settings.
  3. Select the Labor & Compliance tab.
  4. Under Jurisdiction, select Nevada.
  5. Review Nevada's state requirements and set your overtime settings.

⚠️ At this time, Nevada overtime compliance settings are not fully supported. To ensure compliance with Nevada labor laws, set Weekly Overtime fields to 0 to prevent incorrect overtime calculations for employees earning more than 1.5 times the minimum wage.

Entitled employees must receive overtime pay for:

    • Any hours worked beyond 8 hours in a 24-hour period (if the employee works less than 40 hours in a week and earns below 1.5 times the minimum wage).
    • Any hours worked beyond 40 hours in a workweek, regardless of hourly earnings.
  6. Review break, custom break, and wages & pay settings.
  7. Be sure to hit Save to complete these changes!
  8. To restore default Nevada settings (including Overtime rules), click Re-sync labor & compliance settings:
