Delete a Log Book Entry
The Manager Log Book is a secure communication tool exclusively available to Admins, Managers, and Assistant Managers. It operates like a shared diary or journal in your 7shifts account, and serves as a written record to help your management team track business operations (i.e., performance reviews, challenges, achievements, future plans and other relevant information).
In this article you'll learn how to delete a comment or entry in the Manager Log Book. You cannot edit previous log book entries.
Prerequisites
⚠️ Managers and Assistant Managers can only access the Manager Log Book and receive email summaries for the Locations they are assigned to.⚠️ Admins can create and manage categories on the web app. If you think you need additional categories, please reach out to your Admin.
⚠️ Employees do not have access to the Manager Log Book.
Delete an Entry
Use the tabs to change your viewing preferences through the mobile or web app:
- Login to the mobile app, tap the clipboard icon on the bottom menu bar.
- Find the entry you would like to remove and tap and hold on the message > select Delete.
⚠️ Please note:- Employee Performance Log posts are permanent and cannot be deleted.

Admins can delete any Log Book entry posted by any user, on any date (past, present or future). - Admin users are the only ones with the ability to delete log book posts from past dates.

Managers and Assistant Managers can delete their own posts by default but need the "Can delete logbook posts" permission to remove posts by other users. -
Even with the 'Can delete logbook posts' permission, Managers or Assistant Managers can only remove posts made by users with a lower level in the hierarchy (e.g., a Manager can delete an Assistant Manager's post, but not vice versa or with Admins).
- Login to the web app > head to the Log Book tab in the navigation bar.
- Find the entry you would like to delete > click on the trashcan icon. Remember, this action cannot be undone.

By default, Manager/Assistant Managers can remove their own posts, but require the Manager Permission 'Can delete logbook posts' in order to remove posts by other users. -
Even with the 'Can delete logbook posts' permission, Managers or Assistant Managers can only remove posts made by a user that is lower than them in the user type Levels of Hierarchy.
( Example: A Manager can delete the post of an Assistant Manager, but an Assistant Manager cannot delete the post of a Manager or Admin.)
