How to View Your User Type and Permissions in 7shifts

The Permissions tab provides an overview of the specific actions and areas you have access to within 7shifts. This information is particularly useful if you encounter limitations while navigating your Account, as it can help you understand the boundaries of your assigned access, based on your user type. If you're ever unsure why certain features or areas of 7shifts are not available to you, this section will clarify your permissions. 

In this article, you'll learn how to locate and review your user type and permissions within the 7shifts web app, making it easier to understand what you can and cannot do within the Account.


Prerequisites

⚠️ The appearance of your account and access to features vary depending on your user level type.

⚠️ Admins have full access to the account and can manage user types and permissions for all users. If you have questions about your user level type and access, please contact your Admin.

⚠️ Permissions can only be managed on the web app.

⚠️ Managers can only grant Assistant Managers the same permissions that they have. Assistant Managers are unable to update any permissions. Learn more about the different user types and their levels of hierarchy here.


View Your User Type and Permissions 

 

  1. Log in to the web app.
     
  2. In the left navigation bar, head to Settings (or, hover over your profile icon) > My Account.
     
  3. Select the Permissions tab:
      My 7shifts Account Settings to View My Permissions
     
  4. Review the read-only list of your user type and your permissions.
     
  5. If you find that your current permissions are insufficient for your needs, you can reach out to |your direct manager or the Account Admin to discuss the possibility of adjusting them.
