When you open a payroll in "Pending" status, it returns to a "Draft" state. Once payroll is approved, it exits the "Draft" status.

If you need to make changes and want to maintain the original employee pay date, it's important to reopen and resubmit the payroll before the cut-off time on the same day (before 8:00 PM EST). Reopening before the cut-off but resubmitting after could result in a delayed payment date for employees.
