What To Do If You're Sick or Unable to Work

If you can't make it in to work for your shift because of an illness or other unforeseen circumstances, it's best practice to inform your Managers as soon as possible. This allows them to make necessary arrangements for coverage and ensure that operations run smoothly in your absence.

Many restaurants have specific protocols in place for Employees to report absences, so it's essential to be familiar with your restaurant's procedures.

Alternatively, 7shifts provides a convenient communication option with your Managers through our messaging feature! This tool can help you quickly reach out to your designated manager on duty, or start a direct chat to notify them of your situation.


Message Your Manager On Duty 

    1. Log in to the mobile app.
    2.  
    3. On your Dashboard, click Start chat. This will start a conversation between you and your designated manager on duty:

Start a Chat

With messaging, you can start a direct chat with a coworker, or a group.

  1. Log in to the mobile app.

  3. On your Dashboard, click the chat bubble icon in the menu bar:
