Opt-in for Paperless Tax Statements: W-2 / 1099

A W-2 form summarizes your total earnings, taxes withheld, and other financial details needed for filing income tax returns. If 7shifts is your payroll provider, you can receive your W-2 by mail or opt-in for paperless statements to access it directly through your 7shifts account.

⚠️ Note: You can give your employer/manager consent to enable paperless W-2s on your behalf. Instructions for employers/managers are also included in this article.
⚠️ Paperless Statement Consent: Employees who do not consent to Paperless Statements will receive a physical copy of their W-2 at the mailing address listed in their 7shifts profile. However, they can still access their W-2 digitally through their account.Learn how to download your W-2 here.

Employee Guide: How to Opt-in for Paperless W-2s

You can opt-in for Paperless W-2s on 7shifts web or mobile by following these steps. Use the tabs to change your viewing preferences through the mobile or web app.

⚠️ Note: Access to W-2s in 7shifts is only available for accounts using 7shifts Payroll. If your company uses a different payroll provider, please contact them for information on how to access your W-2.
Mobile Web
  1. Login to the 7shifts mobile app. 
  2. Tap on the More Menu icon (☰) in the bottom right corner of your screen.
  3. Select Pay Management.

  4. Tap the Settings icon and toggle the Paperless W-2 statement to opt in.mceclip0-1.pngmceclip1.png

 


Employer Guide: How to Enable Paperless Statements for Employees 

Admin users can enable/disable the option for Employees to receive a paperless W-2 on their behalf in the 7shifts web app following these steps.

  1. Login to the web app.
  2. From the navigation bar, navigate to Team.
  3. From the View Employees page, click on a employee's name to expand their profile.
  4. In the Personal tab, scroll to the Legal and tax information section.
  5. Enable the Paperless W-2 statements option.
  6. Be sure to hit Save to complete these changes!

⚠️ Note: Admin users can review which Employees have opted-in for a digital W-2, and preview their W-2s by navigating to to Payroll > Tax > Employees (W-2). Learn more here.
