Turn on automatic translation for Employee Training
Enable automatic translation in 7shifts Employee Training so you only have to build courses once. Content automatically translates on the employee's device when they select English, Spanish, or French. Preview how courses will be translated before you publish.
Turn on automatic translation
Important: Only Admins and Managers/Assistant Managers with the permission "Can manage training" can enable the automatic translation feature.
- Go to Training, then select Settings.
- Under Translations, check Turn on automatic translation.
- Select Save.
Note: Automatic translation does not apply to documents in the Resource Library.
Preview translations before employees see them
You can check how a translated course will look for employees before you publish it. Use the translate icon in the preview to switch between the available languages.
Preview a lesson in the Content Builder
- Open the lesson in the Content Builder.
- In the preview panel on the right, select the translate icon.
- Under Display language, select Original (English), Spanish, or French. If the lesson wasn't written in English, English also appears.
Preview a course from the course overview
- Open the course and select Preview.
- Select the translate icon at the top of the preview.
-
Under Display language, choose the language you want to check.
What employees see when translation is on
Employees see a translate icon in the top-right corner of each lesson. They can select Original (English), Spanish, or French under Display language. Full courses and bite-sized courses both include translation.
Which languages employees can view
You can write lessons in any language. Employees can choose to translate them into English, Spanish, or French at any time. Original always shows the lesson as you wrote it.
Note: Course names and lesson names are not translated, so write them in the language you want employees to see. The buttons and menus in Training follow the language set in the employee's account under My Account > Language.
