What's new on the Schedule page

7shifts has made several updates to the Schedule page to make building and managing shifts faster. This article covers recent enhancements made to layout navigation, mobile shift creation, and compliance warnings.

Custom Schedule Publishing Options

Managers will be able to publish schedules by one or multiple roles, a full week, or custom days directly within 7shifts, while the standard workflow of publishing entire departments for the week remains unchanged and pre-selected by default.

  • Select one or multiple roles at a time within the updated publish modal, or keep all roles selected to publish as usual.
  • Choose to publish a full week or pick specific days of the week to publish.
  • Rely on pre-filled defaults that match your active schedule view, keeping your full department and week pre-selected when opening the modal.
  • Right-click any assigned draft shift on web, or use the menu in mobile shift details, to publish individual shifts on demand.
  • Note: The custom publishing update has been released for web and Android (version 2026.32.0) devices only at this time. Custom publishing will be available on iOS soon!

Schedule layout updates

Switching between schedule views is now easier to navigate on web. No existing views or functionality have changed. This is a discoverability improvement only.

  • The current layout is labeled next to the grid icon in the top right corner of the Schedule page.
  • The layout dropdown includes card previews and descriptions for each view.
  • List by Role remains the default view and is now labeled as "Default view" in the dropdown.

Multi-day shift creation on mobile

Managers can now create a shift on mobile and apply it to multiple days at once. This matches the existing web scheduling experience.

  • Select multiple days when creating a new shift before saving.
  • If any selected day has a conflict, such as an employee who is unavailable, those conflicts will appear for review before the shifts are saved.

Available to all users with permissions to create and manage shifts. Available on all plans.

Compliance warnings

All schedule compliance warnings are now consolidated into a single dropdown in the top right corner of the Schedule page.

  • Click the Warnings button to open a dropdown that lists active conflicts, overtime, labor exceptions, unassigned shifts, and minor warnings.
  • Click View on Schedule next to any warning type to highlight only the affected shifts on the schedule.
  • A Last published timestamp appears next to the Warnings button.
