Operational Insights is an AI-written summary that appears at the top of the Log Book and on the web Overview dashboard page to give a high-level view of the day's operations.

Important: Managers, and Assistant Managers have access to view the Operational Insights summary.

Operational Insights is available on the 7shifts mobile and web app.
The AI-generated text cannot be edited, deleted, or manually regenerated.

How the AI summary is generated

The Operational Insights AI reviews three sources of data to build a daily summary in the Log Book:

All text posts and comments from the current day.
Sales and labor statistics for the current day.
Up to 7 days of historical summaries, when available.

When the summary is generated and updated

The AI requires at least 5 separate text entries in the Log Book for the current day before an initial summary is generated.
Posts and comments from any category count toward the 5-entry threshold.
There is no minimum word count for entries.
Summaries typically generate in under a minute, subject to network load.
