Why are my total tips higher than the tips collected?
When total tips in 7shifts appear higher than the actual tips collected, it is often due to tip contribution settings that count the same tips across multiple pools.
Issue
Total tips in 7shifts Tip Pooling are contributing more than expected to the total. This occurs when tips appear to be contributing more than the amount collected, or if the same credit card tips are being counted twice across different tip pools.
Cause
This issue happens when tips are set to contribute 100% to multiple pools, or when the combined contribution percentages across all pools cause tips to over-contribute. 7shifts counts the same tips for each pool to which those tips are assigned.
What To Do
To resolve tip over-contribution, you must adjust the contribution amounts so the tips are split appropriately between the tip pools. Ensure the total contribution percentage for a specific tip source does not exceed 100% across all assigned pools.
