Integrations Warnings in Time Clocking

Web - Nov 21 (Rolling out gradually and may not appear in your account right away)

We’ve added a new Warnings tab to help you catch issues in your POS labor data before running payroll. As this feature rolls out, you’ll start to see a new section in your pay period that flags things like unmapped employees, unmapped roles, or punches missing a role.

You can resolve most issues directly from this tab, and you’ll still be able to close your pay period even if some warnings remain. This update helps ensure your payroll and labor reporting stay accurate.

Updated Tip Management Overview

We're updating the Tip Management Overview to create a more reliable and unified system that aligns with your existing Labor Pay Periods and allows you to track all paid tips in 7shifts. This change ensures accurate tracking and easier reconciliation for you and your team.

Key Changes: 

• Unified Pay Periods: Tip data is now fully aligned with your existing Labor Pay Periods.
• Outstanding Tips: A new column clearly tracks all unpaid tips carried over from previous periods, ensuring you have a complete picture of tips owed to your employees.
• Required Action for External Payments: If you pay tips outside of 7shifts (e.g., cash or external payroll), you must now use the "Mark tips as paid" workflow to record these payments and maintain an accurate Outstanding Tips balance.

Note: This feature is being rolled out in phases. If you do not yet see the updated experience, your account will be updated soon.

7shifts Payroll: 2025 Year-End Payroll Checklist

Year-end is around the corner! If you're using 7shifts Payroll, it's crucial to ensure your restaurant is prepared for Year-End Filing as 2025 comes to a close and the new tax year begins.

We have enabled a helpful Year-End Payroll Checklist in your account to help guide you through your year-end payroll to-dos. 

7shifts Payroll: Multi-EIN Support 

We're excited to announce a major enhancement for our clients with complex business structures: Multi-EIN Support is now available for all 7shifts Payroll users!

This feature allows you to manage payroll for multiple distinct legal business entities—each with its own Employer Identification Number (EIN)—all from a single 7shifts account.

What This Means for You:

• Unified Account, Separate Payrolls: Manage all your legal entities (which we now call Business Entities) under one 7shifts login.
• Employee Sharing: Employees can now work and be paid across multiple Business Entities. Hours worked and payroll will automatically be separated by EIN.
• Entity-Specific Settings: You can now create separate PTO policies and manage entity-specific employee records (including multiple, legally required onboarding packages) for each EIN.

7shifts Payroll: In-product Wire Transfer 

This release introduces the ability for Employers (Admins) using 7shifts Payroll to initiate a wire transfer (same day) directly within your 7shifts account when you experience a payroll funding failure (e.g., Non-Sufficient Funds or NSF).

Why This Matters to You

• Minimizes Disruption: This new feature helps you quickly resolve funding failures without needing to reach out to our support.

• Ensures Timely Pay: By utilizing a same-day wire transfer, you can ensure your employees still get paid on time, maintaining business continuity.

When a funding failure occurs, simply check the Payroll tab in the web app to access the new self-serve resolution option.

Location-Level Compliance

We've introduced Location-Level Compliance Settings to give businesses with multiple locations the flexibility to manage local labor laws more precisely.

If you have locations that fall under different jurisdictions or require unique advanced labor rules, you can now set specific compliance settings for individual locations, overriding the default company-wide rules.

What you can set at the location level:

• Jurisdiction
• Minimum wage for advanced labor settings
• Advanced labor rules
• Overtime rules and alerts 

At this time, only these compliance rules can be set at the location level. Other labor settings, including Overtime, Breaks, and Wages, must still be managed at the company level. 

Multi-location Overtime Calculation

Employees working at multiple locations can now have their overtime (OT) hours calculated using one of two methods:

• Option 1 (Default): Combine Hours

  • All hours from all locations are combined to trigger OT.

• Option 2 (New): Separate Hours by Location

  • OT is calculated independently at each location. Hours are not combined when checking the threshold.

Tip Pooling with Lightspeed K

We're excited to announce that our Lightspeed K-Series POS integration for Tip Pools. This integration allows you to pull your POS data directly into Tip Pools for accurate and effective management.
