Stations

Stations (sections) in 7shifts allow you to assign Employees to a specific area of your operation while being assigned a Role for their shift. These Stations can be customized to fit your team's needs.

For example:

Stations can be assigned a Station # (default):
  • Employee A can be scheduled for the Server Role, under Station 1.
  • Employee B can be scheduled for the Server Role, under Station 2.

OR

You can create custom names for your Stations:
  • Employee A can be scheduled for the Server Role, under the Patio Station.
  • Employee B can be scheduled for the Server Role, under the Lounge Station.

Assigning Stations to Employees
⚠️ Access to this feature may require an upgrade from your current plan.
⚠️ Managers and Assistant Managers will require the 'Can manage roles' manager permission to create or edit any Stations. They also can only update the Stations for the Locations and Departments their user profile is assigned to.

2. Click on the 'Pencil' icon Screen_Shot_2022-10-28_at_9.54.21_PM.pngnext to the Role you wish to create Stations for.

4. Remember to click 'Save.'

❗️If you delete a station, this action cannot be undone. Any shifts created with this station will still be assigned under the same Role, but will no longer be assigned to any station.

Assigning Stations to Employees

1. Head to the Schedule tab and click '+' to add a shift.

2. If the Role you are selecting has Stations, you'll see the dropdown appear, allowing you to select which Station the employee will be assigned to.

That's it! Employees will now know which Stations they are assigned to when they look at their upcoming shifts on the Schedule (both mobile and web app).

Happy Scheduling!
