Refund Your Tip Payouts Float

This article explains how and when your tip payouts float is refunded. A float is the pre-funded amount you add to your account to ensure instant tip payouts.


When is My Float Refunded?

Your payouts float will be refunded fully in two scenarios:

  • During your trial period: If you decide to cancel Tip Payouts during the trial period and have added a float, you will need to disable the tip payouts add-on and manually trigger the refund from the add-ons page (see steps below).
  • After your trial period (and after being billed): If you cancel the tip payouts add-on after your trial has ended and you've been billed for the service, your float will be automatically refunded.

How to Refund Your Float (During Trial)

If you are canceling your your Tip Payouts trial and have a float added to your account, follow these steps to ensure your refund is processed:

  1. Log in to to the 7shifts web app as an Admin.
  2. Navigate to the Add-ons section.
  3. Locate the Tip Payouts add-on.
  4. Click the More Menu (three dots) and select Remove Add-on.
  5. Confirm your selection.
  6. Once the add-on is disabled, click Refund float balances, this will trigger the float refund.

What to Expect After the Refund is Triggered

  • Processing Time: Float refunds are typically processed and sent back to your original payment method within 10 business days.
  • Confirmation: An invoice for the refund will be automatically emailed to the address on file. This serves as your confirmation that the refund has been initiated.

⚠️ Important: The refund will be sent back to the payment method you used to originally fund the float. Please check your bank or credit card statement for the refund after the 10-business-day processing window.
