Where Does a Tip Shortage Appear on Your Paycheck?

How a Tip Shortage is Shown

When an employee receives a tip shortage, it will appear as a "Tip Credit Adjustment" line item directly on their paycheck. This clearly indicates the adjustment made due to the tip shortage.

This adjustment also surfaces as a "Tip Credit Adjustment Amount" on the payroll journal, which provides a detailed breakdown of all payroll transactions.
