What happens to my account after I trial a higher-tier 7shifts plan?
When you trial a higher-tier plan in 7shifts, you can explore advanced features while your current employee limit remains the same. Trials initiated by Admins automatically upgrade to the new plan after 14 days to prevent service interruptions.
Things to Know
Important: Plan trials will auto-convert to ensure teams do not lose access to advanced features when the trial ends.
- Only Admins with billing permissions can initiate a plan trial in 7shifts.
- A valid payment method must be on file or provided at the start of the trial.
- The trial window lasts for 14 days.
- At the end of day 14, 7shifts automatically transitions the account to the higher-tier plan.
- 7shifts charges a prorated amount to the billing card on file based on the existing monthly or annual billing cycle.
- Admins can view specific prorated amounts in the Upcoming Invoice section of the Billing page.
Converting to a paid plan before end of trial
If you'd like to upgrade permanently before the end of the trial, you can do so by navigating to the billing section in your 7shifts account and selecting the desired plan.
From the Plans page:
- Log in to the web app as an Admin.
- Head to Settings > Plans.
- Choose the desired Plan.
From the Trial banner:
- Log in to the web app as an Admin.
- Locate the purple trial banner at the top of the 7shifts web account.
- Click the More menu (three dots).
- Select Upgrade now.
Cancel a plan trial auto-conversion
If the higher-tier plan is not the right fit, you can prevent the automatic charge at any time during the 14-day window. You will retain access to higher-tier features until the 14 days expire, at which point the account reverts to the original plan.
- Log in to the web app as an Admin.
- Locate the purple trial banner at the top of the 7shifts web account.
- Click the More menu (three dots).
- Select Cancel Trial.
Trial communication and reminders
7shifts sends a series of automated email reminders to the billing contact on file throughout the trial period.
- Day 0: 7shifts sends a confirmation of trial activation and the specific date of auto-conversion.
- Day 11: 7shifts sends a final reminder three days before the trial ends, including instructions on how to opt-out.
- Day 14+: 7shifts sends a success email confirming the conversion and the completed charge.
