Customize Your Schedule View

Scheduling with 7shifts becomes even easier as you customize and adjust your Schedule page. The Day and Week views will help in identifying patterns, ensuring adequate coverage, and analyzing labor data (with the help of the Labor Budget Tool). The Month view shows shifts for the entire month, offering an extended overview of the schedule.

In this article, you'll learn how to navigate and arrange your Schedule page to fit your viewing needs by day, week or month.

Prerequisites

⚠️ Layout changes will also change the view for all scheduling managers.

⚠️ Managers/Assistant Managers require permission Can manage schedules, and can only access schedules for the Locations/Departments they are assigned to.


To access the schedule on the web app, click on the Schedules tab from the navigation bar:

Day View

The Day view breaks down scheduled shifts by the hour and allows you to see detailed information on your daily schedule. This includes the total/daily hourly employee count and day parts.

To access the Day View: 

  1. Click on any day of the week, or click Day at the top right of your screen:



  2. Along the top of the schedule, you will see a summary of the number of Employees scheduled at each hour:

  3. The total daily Employee count shown under the weather forecast is the total number of shifts booked for the day. If an Employee is booked for two shifts on the same day, they will be counted as two Employees in the total count:



  4. To view the breakdown by Role, hover over the Employee count:


  5. Drag the shift start and end times to edit the shift length:



Week View

The Week view provides a broader glance at the schedule, showing all scheduled shifts per day.

To access the Week View: 

  1. Click on Week.

  2. Along the top of the schedule, you will see a summary of the number of Employees scheduled for each day under the weather forecast. If an Employee is booked for two shifts on the same day, they will be counted as two Employees in the total count.



  3. To view the breakdown by Role, hover over the Employee count:


  4. Shifts can only be edited by clicking on them to expand more details.

 


Month View

The Month view provides an extended overview of the schedule, showing shifts for the entire month.

To access your Month view:

  1. Click on your Tools icon > Month View:

     

  2. Use the filters to narrow down your view. You can only select one department at a time:

  3. Choose to view all employees' shifts, or just your own:



  4. Shifts cannot be edited, and are view-only.
