What's the difference between managers and assistant managers?

In 7shifts, Manager and Assistant Manager are two distinct user types that differ in what they can access, who they can manage, and whose permissions can change theirs. This is sometimes described as the difference between Manager vs Assistant Manager roles or user type hierarchy in 7shifts.

How are manager and assistant manager user types different?

Managers sit above Assistant Managers in the 7shifts user hierarchy. Managers can add and edit Assistant Managers and Employees, while Assistant Managers can only add and edit Employees. A Manager's permissions can only be changed by an Admin, while an Assistant Manager's permissions can be changed by either an Admin or a Manager. These hierarchy rules don't apply to scheduling — Managers and Assistant Managers can schedule each other, as long as they're assigned to the same department.
