Tip Payouts for Employees


Counting cash tips and ensuring there is enough on hand can create unnecessary obstacles after a tiring day. Tip Payouts offers a solution by digitally transferring earned tips directly to your debit account. With an immediate transfer, you and your team won't have to wait on-site or for payroll to receive tips.

Prerequisites

⚠️ Access to Tip Payouts must be enabled by the Admin of the Account.

⚠️ To receive funds, Employees must have (1) a debit card, and (2) use the 7shifts mobile app.

Accepting Your Invite 

Your Account will be ready for setup once your Employer has sent you an invite.

  1. Tap on the notification on your mobile device's home screen to be taken directly to the app:

    Or, login to the mobile app >  select the More menu Screen_Shot_2023-02-03_at_9.45.59_AM.png at the bottom right of your screen > select Tip Payouts:

  2. Click on Get Started > Continue.

  3. Enter your Banking details > click Submit:

  4. Just a moment! We'll need some time to verify and validate your banking information.

    If you come across an error message, please ensure you verify your details with your financial institution. Additionally, you can have an Admin contact our Support team on your behalf - we require communication with an Admin for both security and reporting purposes.

    Moving forward, you'll be able to see your Payment History when navigating back to the Tip Payouts Dashboard.

Update your banking details

Follow these steps to update or change the existing debit card on file:

  1. Log in to the mobile app >  select the More menu Screen_Shot_2023-02-03_at_9.45.59_AM.png at the bottom right of your screen > select Tip Payouts:

  2. Click on the settings icon Screen_Shot_2023-02-03_at_10.32.22_AM.png at the top right of your screen.

  3. Select your current banking details:

  4. Tap on Replace debit card:


  5. Add your new banking details. 

  6. Tap on Save.

    We'll need a bit of time to validate your banking information. Once complete, you're ready to receive tip payouts to your new debit card!

Your Payment Details

Follow the steps below to track and see additional details regarding your payouts. 

  1. Log in to the mobile app >  select the More menu Screen_Shot_2023-02-03_at_9.45.59_AM.png at the bottom right of your screen > Tip Payouts > click into a transaction:

  2. Your expanded Payment details will include the total amount, transaction fee, card paid to, and the Manager who initiated the payout.

  3. If we're unable to process a tip payout, a message will appear to let you know the reason why it was unsuccessful and what you can do for next steps. For example:

    Other reasons that may appear:
      • Payment failed due to invalid card expiration date. Please update your debit card.
      • Payment failed due to invalid bank account number. Please update your debit card.
      • Your debit card was reported lost or stolen. Please register a new debit card.
      • Your debit card was reported lost or stolen. Please register a new debit card.
      • Your bank declined the payment. Please register a new debit card or contact your bank.
      • This payout exceeds your card limit. Please register a new debit card or contact your bank.
      • Payment failed due to a network error. Your manager has been notified and should try again later.
