User Management Company Settings

The User Management tab in 7shifts Company Settings is your central location for managing Permission Templates and maintaining the security of your Join Links.

Things to Know


Important: Only Admins can access and manage the User Management tab in Company Settings.

  • Access to Permission Templates may require an upgrade depending on your 7shifts plan. 
  • Join links should be shared only with staff members you wish to invite to your 7shifts account to maintain account security.

Join Links


Join links allow employees to sign up for 7shifts themselves, which removes the need for manual data entry and gets your team onto the schedule faster.

  • Employees use a shareable link to enter their own information, which saves you time during onboarding.
  • Admins and Managers/Assistant Managers (with permissions) then approve or decline these join requests from a pending queue under Team > View Employees > Pending Employees. 

Note: Links automatically expire after 30 days. You can disable all active join links at any time under Company Settings > User Management > Disable all current links

Permission Templates


Permission templates allow you to assign specific access levels to groups of users at once, ensuring your Managers and Assistant Managers have the exact tools they need.

  • Admins can create up to 10 unique templates for both Level 2 (Managers) and Level 3 (Assistant Managers).
  • When you update a template, you can apply those changes to every employee assigned to it simultaneously.
  • New employees are automatically assigned to your default template based on their user type assigned during the invite process.
