Shift Pool Requests (Mobile)

The 'Shift Pool' is where you'll be able to view, approve, and decline all shift change requests coming in from Employees.
To access the Shift Pool on the mobile app:
1.  Tap on the more menu ' ☰ ' button in the bottom right corner, then tap on 'Shift Pool.'

2. You can quickly find shifts that are being offered up/dropped by tapping on the 'Up For Grabs' tab.

3. Head to the 'Requests' tab to review shift trade requests or any bids to take shifts that have been dropped.

You can tap on any of these requests to view, approve, or decline them.

4. Shift Trades:

Under the 'Requests' section, tap on the trade request to review it and see if the trade will result in any potential overtime or labor exceptions.

Tap 'Approve Trade' to approve it or 'Decline trade' to decline it.

Once approved, both employees in the trade will receive a notification informing them of the change to their Schedule, and the Schedule will automatically reflect the changes. If denied, they will still be notified that their request was declined.

5. Shift Bids:

Tap on the 'Requests' tab to view any shifts that have been bid on by employees wishing to take them. Tap on one of the shifts to view the bid(s) for it.

From there, you'll see which employees had summited a bid/request to take this shift. The bids will be in the order of the first / oldest bid at the top, with the most recent bid at the bottom. You'll also be shown if this shift change will result in any potential overtime or labor exceptions for an employee.

Select you who want to assign the shift to, and tap on 'Assign.'

Once you've assigned the shift, both employees (the one who was giving away the shift, and the one you assigned the shift to) will receive a notification informing them of the change to their schedule.

The Schedule will also update automatically to reflect which person is now scheduled for that shift.

⚠️ A few things to note:

  • If other employees had made a bid for the shift, they will not be notified that the shift has been assigned to someone else. However, the shift will no longer be available to them in the Shift Pool.
  • If a specific employee's bid was denied by a Manager, then they will receive a notification that their request was not approved.
