Do I need to reopen the WH&W report and the Tips Pay periods to update changes?

Question

Do the Time Clocking and the Tips pay periods need to be reopened separately for them to correctly reflect the changes made?

Answer

Yes—if you’ve made updates that affect labor or tip data, you’ll need to reopen both the Worked Hours & Wages (WH&W) pay period and the Tips pay period separately for the changes to apply correctly. Time Clocking and Tip pay periods are managed separately, so reopening one does not affect the other.

  • Time Clocking pay periods impact labor data and reports like Worked Hours & Wages (WH&W). Reopening a Time Clocking pay period will update hours and wages accordingly.
  • Tip pay periods only lock the earned, paid, and owed tip amounts. Other tip-related data (like credit card tips, net sales, and tip ins/outs) remains live and will continue to update, even if the Tip pay period is locked.
  • The Tip Pool report also continues to update live, regardless of whether the Tip Dashboard is locked.
