How to retrieve W-2s and pay stubs for deactivated employees

If your 7shifts account is inactive or your former workplace has canceled their 7shifts Payroll account, you can still access your W-2s and historical pay stubs through the 7shifts mobile app.

Things to know

⚠️ Important: You must have the latest version of the 7shifts mobile app and an existing employee profile to log in.

  • Access to W-2s and pay stubs is only available for accounts that used 7shifts Payroll as their provider.
  • If your employer used a different payroll provider, you must contact that provider directly to retrieve your payroll documents.
  • Access for deactivated users is supported through the 7shifts mobile app and is not available on the web.
  • You can access your W-2 electronically in the mobile app even if you didn't opt in to paperless statements.
  • To comply with federal regulations, all terminated (inactive) employees will also receive their W-2 via mail, regardless of their previous paperless consent status.
  • W-2s for the 2026 tax year will be available in the 7shifts mobile app starting January 19, 2027 and will be all published by January 31, 2027.

Access your tax documents

Follow these steps to locate and download your tax forms and pay statements within the mobile app.

  1. Log in to the 7shifts mobile app.
  2. Tap the More Menu icon (☰).
  3. Select Pay Management.
  4. Select the Tax Forms tab to view your W-2s or the Pay stubs tab to view historical statements.

Get your W-2 and pay stubs if you can't reset your password

7shifts doesn't send password reset emails, when your account is deactivated at every company linked to your email address.

Option 1: You know your password.

Log in to the 7shifts mobile app with your previous email address and password to view your pay history, including pay stubs and W-2s.

Option 2: You don't know your password.

You can't reset the password for an account that is deactivated at every linked company. Contact your former employer directly to request your W-2 or pay records.
