7shifts Payroll: Updating Business Tax Rate

As an Employer or Business Owner, you may occasionally receive a notice from the government or a tax authority indicating a change in tax rate values or frequency. If you use 7shifts Payroll, this requires timely updates to your tax information to remain compliant. Follow the steps below to update your tax rate in 7shifts.


Steps to Update Your Tax Rate

  1. Log in to the 7shifts web app as an Admin.
  2. Navigate to Payroll > Settings > Company Settings.
  3. Select Update tax setup.
  4. Locate the tax rate that needs to be updated and click Edit.
  5. Enter the new value or frequency as specified in the notice.
  6. Save the changes.

Example Scenario: If your 2024 tax rate is set to change in 2025, you may receive a notice specifying the new rate and the effective date. Ensure you update the rate in your 7shifts account on the specified date.
